Why do people decorate a Christmas tree?

explanations

At the Christmas treeMany families set up Christmas trees for the holiday of Christmas. This custom is based both on the words of the prophet Isaiah about the Saviour: And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots (Isa. 1, 11), and on the words of a churchly hymn in honour of the Nativity of Christ: "O Christ, Branch from the root of Jesse, and Flower from him, Thou hast sprung from the Virgin." Decorating dry Christmas tree branches with lights and sweets instructively shows that our nature, a barren and lifeless branch, can only bear spiritual fruit in Christ Jesus, the Source of life, light and joy: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Gal. 5, 22–23).
