The basics of spiritual literacy
Dear in the Lord T.!
   There's no recipe for becoming a peaceful and happy Christian overday. The Kingdom of God matures in the soul and heart gradually, through labour and time. And this labour lasts a lifetime! You're just beginning to study everything related to Orthodoxy, and first and foremost, read one chapter of the Holy Gospel and two chapters of the Epistle daily. Do this rigorously, every day, regardless of whether you understand it or not, whether you feel it or not.
   And the Lord, for your labours and faithfulness, will gradually transform your inner self, but you won't notice it right away. The rest will be revealed to you by priests in confession, always based on the pressing needs of the day. There's no recipe for every occasion.
   One thing is certain: you must learn to live in God. Learn the same way you learnt to read and write in school. Now, both you and your son need to master the basics of spiritual literacy; it's found in the Holy Gospel and the Apostolic Epistles.
