Now, more than ever, we must fervently believe in God and live in Him, for the days are evil and the time is short. Arch. John the Most Eminent Bishop Eugene! I am deeply touched, but, realistically assessing my current capabilities, I am forced to remain where I am, although the memories of my time at the Moscow Academy and the short period of my life within the walls of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius are still vivid and warm my soul every time I draw them from the depths of my memory. For the present generation, most of the people of those years are long gone even from memory, but for me, both living and departed, they remain close with the depth with which they entered my life then. Once again, I thank you, dear Vladyka. I bow to your labours in educating the younger generation of servants of the Church of Christ, and I wish that the memory of these labours will outlive your earthly life.
